Marketing Manager, Meta

As I was stepping into a cross-functional and highly visible project, I asked for a professional coach. Bob Bates came highly recommended by several trusted colleagues. Bob was a natural fit because of his marketing background. More importantly, he had a genuine warmth that immediately makes you feel at ease. I appreciated his point of view — seeing me as a whole person rather than a job description or marketing role to be done more efficiently.

One of the lessons that really stood out for me centered around pressure you can handle more than you think. It’s less about the pressure and more about how you handle it. For example, receiving feedback by observing rather than reacting. Changing perspectives is very powerful even if you can’t change the situation around you.

You can tell that Bob really cares about the wellbeing of his clients. He understands the dynamics of large organizations and typical challenges. In working with Bob I gained insight into what bogs me down, what drains my energy, and how to better ask for what I need. I’ll take these valuable lessons and use them throughout my career.
